I'm currently supporting a well-established manufacturing business in Wolverhampton that is looking to appoint an experienced Refiner Manager to lead its copper refining operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader with a background in metals refining, casting or smelting, ideally within the copper industry, to take ownership of production, safety, quality and team performance in a high-hazard manufacturing environment.
The Role:
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the copper refining and casting process
- Manage and develop a team of refinery operators, driving performance and safety
- Ensure production targets, quality standards and KPIs are consistently achieved
- Oversee molten metal handling, refining, casting and process optimisation
- Work closely with maintenance, quality and senior leadership to minimise downtime and improve plant performance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield, reduce waste and increase efficiency
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 5 years' experience within metals refining, casting or smelting (copper experience highly desirable)
- At least 3 years' management experience leading production teams
- Strong understanding of refining, casting and metallurgical processes
- Experience working safely with hot/molten metals
- Proven leadership, problem-solving and continuous improvement skills
Salary: £52,000
