I am currently supporting a well-established manufacturing business in Wolverhampton that is looking to appoint an experienced Refiner Manager to lead its copper refining operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader with a background in metals refining, casting or smelting, ideally within the copper industry, to take ownership of production, safety, quality and team performance in a high-hazard manufacturing environment.

The Role:

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the copper refining and casting process
  • Manage and develop a team of refinery operators, driving performance and safety
  • Ensure production targets, quality standards and KPIs are consistently achieved
  • Oversee molten metal handling, refining, casting and process optimisation
  • Work closely with maintenance, quality and senior leadership to minimise downtime and improve plant performance
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield, reduce waste and increase efficiency

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 5 years experience within metals refining, casting or smelting (copper experience highly desirable)
  • At least 3 years management experience leading production teams
  • Strong understanding of refining, casting and metallurgical processes
  • Experience working safely with hot/molten metal
