We are seeking an experienced Assistant Contracts Manager to join a growing surfacing and highways team. This role would suit someone with a site engineering background who is looking to progress into contract and operational management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of surfacing and highway maintenance contracts
- Assist with planning, programming, and coordinating site operations
- Manage subcontractors, labour, plant, and material resources
- Monitor project costs, progress, quality, and health & safety compliance
- Liaise with clients, site teams, and suppliers
- Prepare site reports, RAMS, and contract documentation
- Ensure works are delivered on time and within budget
Requirements
- Previous experience in surfacing, asphalt, highways, or civil engineering & construction projects.
- Background as a Assistant Site Engineer, Setting out Engineer, or similar
- Good understanding of NEC contracts and highway specifications preferred
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- SMSTS/SSSTS and CSCS desirable
- Full UK driving licence

- Hands-on operational experience on live Construction or Civil Engineering projects
