Manufacturing Engineer

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer – Aerospace Location: South Birmingham Type: Full-Time | Permanent Salary: Competitive + Benefits Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer looking to work at the cutting edge of aerospace engineering? We’re recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a high-performance team dedicated to driving process innovation, product quality, and production efficiency in a precision aerospace manufacturing environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in both the optimisation of current operations and the industrialization of new product introductions (NPI). Key Responsibilities: * Optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. * Lead and support New Product Introductions (NPI) including tooling, validation, and process development. * Drive lean and continuous improvement initiatives (RFT, waste reduction, kaizen, value stream mapping). * Apply APQP, PPAP, and FMEA methodologies to ensure process and product readiness. * Implement and maintain process documentation (SOPs, work instructions, routings). * Troubleshoot production issues using structured problem-solving methods (8D, DMAIC). * Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP). About You: * Degree or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience. * Experience operating in aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering environments. * Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, process control, and statistical techniques. * Proficient with engineering drawings and GD&T. * Experienced in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and process validation. Desirable: * Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification. * Experience with ERP systems. * Understanding of special processes (e.g., forging, heat treatment, machining).
