An established precision engineering manufacturer is seeking a Commercial Engineer / Estimating Engineer to lead customer estimating activities and provide commercial support across the engineering function.

This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer with experience in CNC machining, estimating, and cost modelling, who enjoys working at the interface of engineering, supply chain and commercial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce accurate and timely quotations for CNC machined components
  • Lead and coordinate estimating activity within a small team
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates to support new business acquisition
  • Provide commercial support to Engineering Cost of Sales (COS)
  • Analyse COS data and implement cost reduction and efficiency improvements
  • Work closely with engineering to meet customer demand and delivery requirements
  • Liaise with supply chain to source materials to customer specification
  • Support and maintain process documentation in line with the company BMS
Key Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in precision engineering or CNC machining environments
  • Strong understanding of engineering processes, tooling and fixtures
  • Experience producing estimates and quotations for machined components
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver cost saving initiatives
  • Well organised, methodical and detail focused
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
