We’re working with a well-established manufacturing business in Staffordshire to recruit a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity within a fast-paced production environment operating in ATEX classified areas.
This role would suit an experienced engineer who is confident working in hazardous or explosive environments and is passionate about maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, and performance across production equipment.
What will you be doing?
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment
- Diagnosing faults across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control systems
- Working safely within ATEX zones, ensuring full compliance with safety procedures
- Maintaining and repairing equipment used in filling, packaging, and production processes
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency
- Recording maintenance activities accurately and maintaining documentation
- Collaborating with production teams to minimise downtime and optimise performance
What will you bring to the party?
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing or process environments
- COMPEX certification (Ex01–Ex04) or strong experience working in ATEX environments
- Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience with automated production equipment and control systems
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations in hazardous environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
- Background in aerosol, chemical, pharmaceutical, or similar industries
- PLC fault-finding experience
- Experience with filling lines, conveyors, and packaging machinery
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering
