We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Ophthalmologist to diagnose, treat, and manage diseases and disorders of the eye and visual system. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive eye care, perform surgical procedures when required, and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Examine, diagnose, and treat eye diseases, injuries, and vision disorders
- Prescribe medications, corrective lenses, and other treatments
- Perform surgical and non-surgical ophthalmic procedures as required
- Monitor and manage chronic eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration
- Interpret diagnostic tests including visual field tests, OCT, and imaging
- Educate patients on eye health, disease prevention, and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Collaborate with optometrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology and best clinical practices
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
- Registered with the GMC
- Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency/training program
- Valid medical license to practice
- Board certification or eligibility (preferred, depending on location)
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, and surgical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to patient-centered care and medical ethics
You will have 5 years NHS (UK) experience in ophthalmology. Subspecialty experience (e.g., retina, cornea, paediatric ophthalmology) is an advantage.
Work EnvironmentHospital, eye clinic, or private practice setting. May involve outpatient clinics, operating theatres, and emergency consultations.
