We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a dynamic organisation in the West Midlands. You’ll be responsible for embedding a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with legislation, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. Reporting to senior management and acting as a key member of the leadership team, you’ll lead on H&S strategy, accident investigations, environmental impact reduction, and compliance reporting.
What will you be doing
- Overseeing all Health & Safety matters across multiple sites, ensuring legal compliance and adherence to internal standards.
- Leading investigations into accidents and near misses, applying root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintaining accurate H&S records, dashboards, and management reports, including board-level updates.
- Designing and delivering H&S training and inductions to employees at all levels.
- Conducting risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH assessments.
- Monitoring and improving facilities and operations to meet H&S and environmental standards.
- Ensuring compliance with transport, first aid, and PPE regulations.
- Supporting continuous improvement projects with cross-functional H&S expertise.
What will you bring to the party
- NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (essential).
- Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in a Health & Safety management role, ideally within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation, codes of practice, and regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., RIDDOR, PUWER, DSEAR).
- Experience leading accident investigations, conducting risk assessments, and delivering H&S training.
- Excellent organisational, reporting, and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Desirable: IOSH Managing Safely qualification, experience with ISO 14001 or environmental management systems, and liaising with regulators.
