Overview

SJCM Accountancy is dedicated to providing trusted accountancy services with professionalism and fee transparency. The firm prioritises a friendly and approachable service. Our proprietor, Samantha Mitcham (FMAAT), is licensed and regulated by AAT and has over 18 years of experience in the accounting sector. The firm offers a full range of services including accounts preparation, bookkeeping & VAT, management accounting, personal and corporation tax, payroll, and strategic business advice.

This role can be part-time or full-time, hybrid, and is based in Hebden Bridge with some work-from-home flexibility. The majority of weekly working hours should be spent in the office, so please only apply if you can commute to Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.

Responsibilities

• Accounts preparation
• Bookkeeping
• Management accounting
• Handling corporate and personal taxes
• VAT returns
• Payroll processing
• Providing business advice
• Supporting other staff with duties and handling ad hoc tasks as required

Qualifications and Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in practice (not necessarily in all areas listed)
• Willingness to work in the office in Hebden Bridge (home working permitted but some office time is compulsory)
• Experience in accountancy areas listed above
• Attention to detail, effective communication with clients, and ability to meet deadlines

Skills can be taught; personality and fit with clients and staff are important. This role offers part-time hours, with the possibility of two people sharing the role.

Additional Notes

Salary level is not specified as roles are not fixed; compensation remains competitive. Qualified by experience entrants are welcome.
