Conveyancing Team Leader | Qualified Conveyancer
Salary: Β£45,000 β Β£55,000 DOE
Location: Stevenage
SJC Legal is currently working with a well-established and highly regarded law firm with an excellent reputation across the region. Due to continued growth, the firm is looking to recruit an experienced Conveyancing Team Leader to join its established Residential Property team in Stevenage.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced conveyancer looking to take the next step in their career. The role combines managing a varied residential property caseload with responsibility for supervising and developing members of the wider team, with genuine scope to progress further within the department.

The Role
- Manage your own residential conveyancing caseload from inception through to completion
- Deal with a varied caseload including Freehold and Leasehold Sales and Purchases, New Builds, Transfers of Equity, Remortgages, Land Purchases and Equity Release
- Assist with the day-to-day management and supervision of conveyancing support staff
- Mentor, train and support junior members of the team where required
- Undertake title reviews, raise and respond to enquiries and prepare reports on title
- Take responsibility for the financial performance of matters under your supervision, including achieving agreed targets, managing write-offs and lock-up
- Ensure AML requirements, post-completion matters, file closure and archiving are completed in accordance with the firm's procedures
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, brokers and other solicitors throughout transactions
- Deliver exceptional levels of client care
- Build and maintain relationships with local agents, introducers and professional contacts, supporting business development and the continued growth of the department
The Candidate
- Be a qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Chartered Legal Executive
- Have a minimum of 3 years' experience within Residential Conveyancing
- Have experience managing your own caseload from instruction through to completion
- Be confident handling a broad range of residential property transactions
- New Build experience would be highly advantageous
- Have previous experience supervising, mentoring or delegating work to junior conveyancing staff
- Be commercially aware and comfortable working towards agreed billing and performance targets
- Have strong business development skills and enjoy developing relationships with local agents and professional contacts
- Be highly organised with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritise a busy workload
- Have excellent communication and client care skills
- Be a positive team player who is keen to take on additional responsibility and develop their career
