A highly regarded law firm is looking to appoint a Legal Assistant to join its established and approachable Residential Property team in Redditch. The successful candidate will provide key support to the Residential Property team, assisting fee earners with the day-to-day management and progression of conveyancing matters. This role would be well suited to an organised and detail-focused individual with previous experience in a conveyancing support role, who is keen to continue developing their knowledge within residential property. The ideal candidate will be confident working in a busy legal environment, able to prioritise competing deadlines and committed to providing a high level of service to clients and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting fee earners with the administration and progression of residential property matters
  • Assisting with client onboarding, preparing quotes and responding to enquiries
  • Communicating with clients, solicitors, lenders and estate agents to provide updates and resolve queries
  • Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring files meet regulatory and quality requirements
  • Supporting with leasehold transactions and property searches
  • Using the Land Registry portal for registrations, requisitions, official copies, leases and title plans
  • Preparing Stamp Duty Land Tax calculations and related submissions
  • Assisting with billing processes and liaising with the finance team
  • Providing general office support, including occasional reception cover when required

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience within conveyancing, ideally as a Legal Assistant or Conveyancing Assistant
  • A basic understanding of residential property transactions and procedures
  • Experience working within a legal office environment
  • Familiarity with case management systems
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage a varied workload and work effectively to deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach
