Your role
SJC Partners are recruiting a Post Completion Assistant to join an established Residential Property team in Birmingham. You’ll manage post-completion work on residential conveyancing files, ensuring outstanding tasks are completed accurately and within deadlines, from completion through to registration and file closure. This role would suit someone who enjoys detailed administrative work and takes pride in keeping files organised and progressing efficiently.
What you’ll do
- Prepare and submit SDLT and Welsh LTT returns within statutory deadlines.
- Submit Land Registry applications and respond to requisitions.
- Arrange mortgage redemptions and chase confirmation of discharge.
- Serve notices on landlords and management companies.
- Check completed registrations and send documents to clients and lenders.
- Help fee earners discharge undertakings and maintain accurate records.
- Update the case management system and close completed files.
- Provide administrative support to the conveyancing team.
What you’ll need
Strong organisational and administrative skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines. You’ll communicate clearly, work confidently with IT systems and be comfortable working independently while supporting colleagues.
Previous post-completion or residential conveyancing experience would be advantageous, alongside familiarity with the Land Registry portal and HMRC SDLT service.
