Your role
SJC Partners are recruiting a Conveyancing Assistant to join an established Residential Property team in Shirley, Solihull.
You’ll support fee earners with residential sales, purchases and remortgages from instruction through to completion, helping transactions progress smoothly and keeping clients informed.
This role would suit someone with conveyancing experience who enjoys client contact and brings a patient, friendly and professional approach.
What you’ll do
- Open files, complete ID and AML checks, and prepare client care documents.
- Order searches, obtain title documents and prepare draft contract packs for review.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, brokers and other solicitors.
- Chase outstanding documents, enquiries, mortgage offers and funds.
- Maintain accurate case management records and monitor key dates.
- Prepare completion statements and support exchange and completion arrangements.
- Assist with SDLT returns and Land Registry applications where required.
What you’ll need
Previous experience within a residential conveyancing team and using a legal case management system is essential.
You’ll have strong organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence communicating by phone and email. The ability to support clients with care, tact and patience is particularly important.
Experience with the Land Registry portal, SDLT submissions or preparing completion statements would be advantageous.
