Are you looking to begin or develop your career in legal finance and accounts? A well-established, multi-service and multi-office law firm is looking for a Junior Legal Accounts Assistant to join its Southsea office. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or someone with experience in finance administration, legal administration or accounts. Working alongside the firm’s accounts team, you will assist with day-to-day transactional finance duties and gain valuable experience within a legal cashier environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Monitoring incoming funds and updating records
- Processing electronic and BACS payments
- Assisting with billing and account transfers
- Producing cheques when required
- Entering purchase ledger invoices accurately
- Posting direct debits
- Responding to supplier queries
- Obtaining copy invoices and checking statements
- Assisting with payment runs
- Supporting bank reconciliations
- Checking transactions have the correct documentation and authorisation
- Liaising with internal teams regarding account queries
What we’re looking for:
- Strong attention to detail and numerical skills
- Good organisation and time management
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- A professional and reliable approach
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- An interest in developing a career in legal accounts
Previous accounts, finance administration or legal cashier experience is preferred but not essential. Graduates with a relevant degree and a genuine interest in legal finance are welcome to apply.
