Are you a technically strong estimator with experience in oil-fired heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems?
My client is looking for an OFTEC & F-Gas Qualified Estimator to join their team, based in Peterborough.
As an Estimator, you'll take ownership of pricing and estimating works across the maintenance contracts and project pipeline.
You'll prepare accurate, competitive quotations for planned and reactive works, working closely with operations, project managers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure pricing is technically sound and commercially viable.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge, estimating experience, and an eye for detail.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare accurate estimates and quotations for planned and reactive maintenance works, in line with SFG20 planned maintenance guidelines.
- Price oil-fired heating and air conditioning/refrigeration works, including materials, labour, and subcontractor costs.
- Review site surveys, drawings, and specifications to produce detailed, competitive pricing.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain quotations and clarify scope.
- Update and maintain CAFM systems with accurate job and pricing information.
- Work closely with helpdesk and operations teams to align quotations with client requirements and contract terms.
- Identify additional works and support the wider sales and estimating process.
- Ensure pricing reflects relevant OFTEC and F-Gas regulatory requirements and health & safety standards.
- Track outstanding quotations and follow up as required.
- Produce accurate estimating documentation and reports.
- Support project delivery teams and hand over won works to Project Managers.
What we're looking for Essential
- OFTEC qualification or strong working knowledge of OFTEC-regulated systems.
- F-Gas qualification or strong working knowledge of F-Gas-regulated systems.
- Proven experience in an estimating role within commercial or industrial building services or maintenance.
- Strong technical knowledge of oil-fired heating, air conditioning/refrigeration, and associated M&E equipment.
- Experience working to SFG20 planned maintenance guidelines.
- Comfortable using CAFM systems for job and pricing management.
- Sound understanding of health & safety legislation relevant to M&E works.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and subcontractors.
- Well organised, able to manage multiple quotations and deadlines simultaneously.
Desirable
NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating or equivalent.
