Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This role is on rotating weekly shifts of either 06:00-14:00 or 12:00-20:00. The ideal candidate will minimise downtime through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), improve production facilities, reduce the costs of breakdowns, resources and repairs, and increase overall reliability and safety of the plant, personnel and production processes.
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults.
- Dealing with emergencies, breakdowns and repairs.
- Checking and calibrating instruments to ensure accuracy.
- Using diagnostic and fault‑finding methods to establish root cause and repair plant and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime, and contributing to improving planned preventative maintenance.
- Always adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Fitting new parts and ensuring equipment works correctly.
- Ensuring continuous cover of machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns.
- Providing training to operators to enable them to perform routine basic maintenance activities such as cleaning valves.
- Participating in training programmes to stay updated with new technologies and best practices in maintenance engineering.
- Collaborating with other departments to address maintenance issues and improve overall efficiencies.
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Managing external contractors while on site.
- Assisting with new plant builds and installations across sites.
Required Skills & Experience:
- A mechanical engineering apprenticeship or qualification.
- Industrial, agricultural or manufacturing background.
- Electrical and mechanical training/experience within an industrial setting.
Desirable Skills:
- An electrical engineering qualification.
- Working at Heights.
- Fabrication, manual machining/fitting, welding.
- Planned Preventative Maintenance.
- PLC Fault Finding / 3 Phase.

- Capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures.
