We are seeking an exceptional Registered Manager to lead the development and operation of a brand-new children's home in the London Borough of Hackney.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a service from the ground up. Working in close partnership with Hackney Council, you will establish and lead a trauma-informed therapeutic home that provides stability, safety and nurturing care for children and young people with complex emotional, behavioural and mental health needs.

These are not simply children's homes. They are homes that belong to the children who live in them.

Benefits

  • Over 7 weeks' paid leave (inclusive), with the option to buy or sell leave.
  • One Wellbeing Day each year.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • Excellent learning and development opportunities.
  • Professional qualification and training support for relevant roles.
  • Flexible maternity, paternity and adoption packages.
  • Up to 5% employer pension contribution.
  • Blue Light Card eligibility, offering discounts at more than 15,000 retailers nationwide.

What You Do Could Make a Difference

This is much more than a Registered Manager role.

You will play a pivotal role in launching the home, building a high-performing team and creating the foundations for a successful and sustainable service. You will lead the journey towards Ofsted registration and shape a culture that places children's wellbeing, safety and outcomes at its heart.

Through innovative and trauma-informed care, you will help create an environment where children feel safe, valued and empowered to reach their potential.

How You Will Create Bright Futures

As Registered Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development, launch and operation of the home.
  • Recruit, develop and inspire a skilled and committed staff team.
  • Establish values and practices that reflect national standards, Ofsted requirements and the shared vision of the service and Hackney Council.
  • Prioritise psychological safety, empathy and relationship-based practice.
  • Deliver high-quality care and support that achieves positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Ensure children feel physically and emotionally safe, secure and empowered.
  • Build strong relationships with local communities, stakeholders and partner agencies.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Lead the home to achieve and sustain high-quality Ofsted outcomes.

Let's Talk About You

We are looking for a compassionate and inspirational leader who shares our commitment to challenging inequality and creating inclusive opportunities for children and families.

You will have:

  • Significant management experience within children's residential care.
  • A Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or evidence that you are working towards achieving it).
  • Experience supporting children affected by trauma, criminal exploitation and sexual abuse.
  • A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and child development.
  • Knowledge of the cultural, societal and systemic factors that impact children's lives and experiences.
  • A proven track record of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings in leadership roles.
  • Experience creating psychologically safe, reflective and resilient teams.
  • Strong partnership-working skills and the ability to work effectively with local authorities and external agencies.
  • A commitment to anti-racist practice and challenging discrimination in all forms.
