We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join a specialist school supporting children and young people aged 4-19 with autism and associated needs.
Working within a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people while developing your skills in a supportive and rewarding environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for either a Band 5 Occupational Therapist looking to develop their career or a more experienced Band 6 practitioner seeking a rewarding role within a specialist educational setting.
The Role
Working as part of an experienced therapy team, you will provide specialist occupational therapy support to pupils with a range of sensory, motor, perceptual, functional and emotional regulation needs.
Therapy is delivered through a combination of one-to-one interventions, small group sessions and integrated classroom support.
Key responsibilities include
- Assessing, planning and implementing occupational therapy interventions.
- Delivering individual and group therapy sessions.
- Embedding therapy programmes within classroom environments.
- Working closely with teachers, support staff and fellow therapists.
- Monitoring and evaluating therapy outcomes.
- Producing reports and contributing to Annual Reviews and EHCP processes.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records.
- Supporting multidisciplinary working and joint therapy initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Degree qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience supporting individuals with autism.
Desirable
- 1-2 years' post-qualification experience.
- Experience working with children, young people or in educational settings.
- Knowledge of Sensory Integration, postural management, Bobath or related therapeutic approaches.
