The Priory for Wales is seeking to appoint a Priory Dean, who will serve as the spiritual leader and senior ecclesiastical officer of the Priory. The Priory Dean is responsible for safeguarding the Christian nature and ethos of the Order, offering guidance on all ecclesiastical, spiritual, and ethical matters affecting the Priory. They oversee chaplaincy provision across Wales and chair the Pro Fide Committee of the Priory for Wales, playing a central role in the pastoral and spiritual life of the organisation. This is a significant voluntary leadership role within the Priory, combining spiritual oversight, chaplaincy leadership, and Trustee responsibility. We welcome expressions of interest from senior clergy who are committed to the values and mission of the Order and who can contribute positively to our governance and spiritual direction.
Time Commitment: Approximately 60β80 hours per year
Key Duties will include:
- Provide spiritual, ethical, and ecclesiastical guidance to the Prior and the Priory Chapter Board
- Safeguard the Christian ethos of the Order while supporting an inclusive environment
- Lead and oversee chaplaincy provision across Wales and chair the Pro Fide Committee
- Represent the Priory at national services, visitations, and within the wider Order, including the International College of Deans
- Serve as a Trustee, contributing to good governance and strategic decision making.
