About The Role
We are seeking a technically skilled and detail‑oriented Civil Engineering 3D Technician to support the delivery of high‑quality, sustainable CAD and digital solutions across a diverse portfolio of civil engineering projects. This includes roads, rail infrastructure, data centres, residential schemes, and mixed‑use developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed drainage and external works drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Develop and refine designs using MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow, or InfoDrainage.
- Create accurate 2D and 3D models for masterplans and detailed designs across sectors such as regeneration, aviation, infrastructure, and industrial.
- Coordinate below‑ground design with structural, architectural, and environmental teams, including clash detection.
- Support the preparation of technical submissions for planning and statutory approvals.
- Ensure all designs comply with current UK standards, codes of practice, and SuDS principles.
- Apply BIM protocols (BS EN ISO 19650) and digital workflows to support project delivery.
- Use digital tools such as Navisworks, Infraworks, and other platforms to enhance coordination and design quality.
- Follow RBG IMS quality processes (ISO 9001 & 14001) and support health and safety compliance, including CDM Regulations 2015.
- Maintain high standards of CAD output, documentation, and drawing file management in line with RBG documentation standards.
- Liaise with document controllers to ensure proper document control procedures and track internal distributions.

You are a technically proficient and detail‑oriented Civil Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in drainage and external works design. You bring a proactive mindset, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

- Proven experience delivering commercial drainage and external works designs.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

- Familiarity with Section 104, 106, and 278 design processes.
- Experience liaising with local authorities and utility providers.
- Working knowledge of Navisworks, Infraworks, and BIM workflows (BS EN ISO 19650).
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high‑quality standards.
- A relevant degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience in the field.
