This role is ideal for a technician who takes pride in engineering accuracy, diagnostic capability, and DVSA-compliant maintenance standards.
Role OverviewYou will be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance, inspections, and repairs across Scania and mixed-fleet HGVs and trailers. The role requires strong technical competence, disciplined record-keeping, and the ability to work efficiently within a busy franchise workshop.
Key Responsibilities- Full vehicle and trailer safety inspections, servicing, and repairs to DVSA standards
- Advanced diagnostics using Scania systems, OEM tooling, and electronic test equipment
- Maintenance of ancillaries and specialist body applications, including hydraulics, pneumatics, refrigeration, and electrical systems
- Supporting maintenance on mobile and fixed plant operated by the wider Operations team
- Ensuring accurate, audit-ready maintenance records in line with legislative and company requirements
- Managing allocated work through the R2C fleet maintenance platform, ensuring real-time updates and compliance
- Communicating downtime, repair progress, and completion to the Workshop Supervisor and Service Manager
- Maintaining workshop tooling, reporting calibration requirements and equipment faults promptly
- Assisting the parts team with technical parts identification and ordering
This role is suited to technicians with:
- Strong HGV technical background (Scania experience advantageous)
- Proven ability to diagnose complex faults across mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
- Understanding of DVSA inspection standards, brake testing, and roadworthiness compliance
- Experience using digital maintenance systems (R2C or equivalent)
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality workmanship
- A disciplined approach to documentation, safety, and workshop standards
