S J Bargh is a leader in specialised logistics to the milk industry, general haulage, palletised distribution network, Scania Parts Dealership and third-party HGV vehicle repairs and management to customers throughout the UK.
We are now expanding our Scania franchise workshop in Lancaster and we’re looking for technicians who want to be part of a modern, supportive and technically driven team. Are you a Level 2 or Level 3 Vehicle Technician? Or a Light Vehicle Technician wanting to step up into HGV? If so, we want to hear from you!
We offer full support, structured training and funded development to help you progress to Level 3 HGV Technician status, including Scania factory training and real career pathways. Whether you’re already an experienced HGV technician or you’re ready to make the jump from light vehicles (cars and vans) to commercials, we will help you build the skills, confidence, and qualifications you need.
Role Overview
You will carry out high quality maintenance, inspections and repairs across Scania and mixed fleet HGVs and trailers. You’ll work with modern diagnostic systems, OEM tooling and digital maintenance platforms in a busy, professional franchise workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Full vehicle and trailer safety inspections, servicing and repairs to DVSA standards
- Advanced diagnostics using Scania systems, OEM tooling and electronic test equipment
- Maintenance of ancillaries and specialist body applications (hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems)
- Ensuring accurate, audit ready maintenance records in line with DVSA and company requirements
What You’ll Bring
- Level 2 or Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance qualification (HGV or Light Vehicle)
- Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic capability
- Understanding of DVSA inspection standards, brake testing and roadworthiness compliance
- Experience using digital maintenance systems
- Ability to work independently and deliver high quality workmanship
- A disciplined approach to documentation, safety and workshop standards
