Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Support
    • Effective service process planning and control.
    • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Engage with workshop foreman, shift leads daily and build collaborative relationships.
    • Monitor the service reception function and assist with any queries or opportunities.
    • Ensure Scania booking in processes are being followed in line with DCS processes – standards.
    • Engage with Scania account Managers for technical assistance and help with claims where required.
    • Quality check a proportion of service literature and job cards to ensure accuracy, report back to Technician with discrepancies for rectification.
    • Assist R&M and Warranty Administrator with technical queries to increase positive data entry.
    • Attend meetings with senior management and Scania representatives to discuss performance and discrepancies in operational procedures.
    • Manage work in progress, ensuring all completed jobs invoiced within month end timetable.
    • Manage future bookings of the MOT lanes.
    • Ensure all SJ Bargh Ltd fleet are booked in as priority in line with the service schedule.
    • Update and monitor SJB service schedule, liaising with operations.
    • Align current processes with the STA/DTA programme.
  • Staff Management
    • Assess and agree appropriate Scania product training to ensure we meet DOS in line with the inter-dealer agreement.
    • Recruit, mentor, and develop staff to meet performance targets, ensuring a safe working environment.
    • Train and develop workshop technicians and supervisors to enhance product knowledge and performance.
    • Conduct 1-2-1 discussions with workshop staff to evaluate current skill levels and build training program to develop professional growth.
    • Monitor Quality check failures and look for trends in training requirements or personnel issues.
    • Investigate MOT failures and report findings to National Fleet Manager.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Monitor safety standards and ensure the workshop comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
    • Report potential risks through monthly workshop inspections.
    • Ensure Scania workshop is compliant with special tooling, overalls, service literature and data entry.
    • Ensure appearance, floors, walls etc. are maintained periodically to ensure compliance to expected DOS.
    • Ensure all workshop equipment is calibrated in line with legal requirements.
    • Ensure all milk pumps are calibrated in line with DTAS requirements.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Build strong relationships, analyse customer needs, and deliver high-quality service to drive repeat business.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact between Scania service and corporate management.
    • Collaborate with other departments to align workshop operations with overall business strategies.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on workshop performance and operational challenges.
    • Create workshop KPI’s using Scania Snowflake Reporting.
  • Training and Development
    • Attend Scania events and courses aimed at improving brand knowledge and technical knowledge.
    • Continuous process improvement.
