Job Title: Project Manager- Marine and Tunnelling
Contract Type: Full-time, permanent
Location: London: Minimum 3 days a week in the office or Avonmouth office (with occasional travel to Suffolk ). Please note that this role will eventually become site based, with offices located in Ipswich
Salary: From £78,949 depending on experience, plus bonus and other benefits

About the Role:
Are you ready to lead and innovate in one of the UK\’s most ambitious infrastructure projects? As a Project Manager for Main Civil Works at Sizewell C, you will play a crucial role in driving the delivery of civil engineering work and managing key contracts. Your mission will be to advance engineering, ensure quality, and support the delivery programme for Sizewell C, contributing to the nation\’s sustainable energy future.
In this scope you’ll be responsible for delivering the Tunnelling and Marine sub programme including offshore shafts, head structures, intake and outfall tunnels for the nuclear plant cooling systems.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Project Manager with a strong background in delivering major and complex infrastructure projects. Ideally, you will come from a Civil Engineering, Tunnelling, Marine, or Construction background.
What we’re looking for:
Project & Construction Management:
Proven experience managing construction activities with a strong grasp of project management principles.
Full Project Lifecycle Delivery:
Successful track record delivering major projects from concept to handover in complex, safety-critical environments.
Multidisciplinary Coordination:
Ability to lead and align cross-functional design and procurement teams to meet key milestones.
Technical Expertise:
Background in mining, marine or civil engineering or Project Management within large-scale industrial settings.
Strong Interpersonal & Analytical Skills:
Excellent communicator and problem-solver, able to collaborate across diverse teams and disciplines.
Health & Safety Leadership:
Demonstrated commitment to safety, with hands-on experience managing HSE on engineering or construction projects.
Project Controls:
Skilled in quality assurance, cost control, and planning, with a focus on timely, high-standard delivery.
Qualifications:
Degree-qualified and/or Chartered in Civil or Structural Engineering, or Construction Management (or related field).
Personal Attributes:
Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Adaptable, solution-focused, and quality-driven.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maximise replication from HPC and support contract readiness
- Support and challenge the progression of Target Outturn Costs (TOCs) by the Civil Works Alliance ,
- Coordinate internal and external interfaces to ensure cohesive design and delivery
- Sponsor procurement for designated sub contracts being delivered through the Civils Works Alliance (CWA)
- Promote continuous learning through lessons-learned and knowledge capture
- Define and manage work scopes and interfaces across the SZC programme
- Drive safe, on-time, and budget-compliant contract delivery by the CWA
- Provide surveillance and identification of mitigations to support that the contractual obligations are met
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on manufacturing and construction contracts

- Asite, Teamcenter, or similar.
- Microsoft Office – especially Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Familiarity with PRINCE2, PMBOK, or Agile frameworks.
