Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. • Promote and embed a strong nuclear safety culture across the organisation.
  • Represent the operator’s interests within the SZC project and with external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with HPC and internal SZC teams to integrate learning and align approaches.
  • Support the development of safety cases and ensure alignment with the Nuclear Site Licence.

  • In-depth understanding of the role of a Nuclear Safety Group in operational nuclear power stations.
  • Solid technical foundation in nuclear engineering and science, ideally with PWR experience.
  • Knowledge of nuclear safety cases and the operational role in their development and implementation.
  • Understanding of nuclear reactor physics and operational safety responsibilities.
  • Experience in strategy creation and implementation, ideally in a new or developing business area.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficient in project management, including budgeting and planning.
  • Familiarity with the UK Nuclear Site Licence framework.
  • Ability to challenge constructively and work independently.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic project environment.
  • Collaborative and able to build effective working relationships.
