Graduate Materials Engineer (Sizewell C) in Haverhill

Responsibilities

• Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm
• Support the delivery of Sustainability activities
• Assist in development of materials engineering solutions and documentation
• Support the project delivery teams, providing technical support in materials engineering design, assurance and management
• Assist in the provision of materials testing services during project delivery
• Develop and maintain relationships with relevant materials engineering consultants and suppliers
• Support the materials team in materials risk management, identifying and recording best practice and areas for improvement on contracts
• Maintain personal expertise and knowledge to ensure that BB is at the forefront of the industry both technically and in using the latest technologies and standards
• Assist where requested, audits of construction and materials including testing and ensure all meet project specifications and relevant standards
• Ensure procedures and quality systems are applied
• Mentor members of the team to deliver high performance and a culture of continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Degree educated
• Full UK driving License
• Good interpersonal/communication skills
• Ability to collect, manage and present data in a clear manner
• Knowledge of construction materials (Concrete, Grout, Earthworks, Aggregates, Asphalt)
• Desire for continuous improvement and development
• Quick learner
• Well organised
• Experience working within a laboratory environment or civil engineering project
