Sizewell C is entering a critical delivery phase, creating exciting opportunities for Assistant Project Managers to join the Engineering & Delivery function across several major programme areas.
This is an outstanding opportunity for developing project professionals to build experience on one of Europe's largest and most complex infrastructure projects, working alongside experienced delivery teams within a highly regulated and technically challenging environment. You’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of engineering, procurement and manufacturing activities that will help power around 6 million homes with low‑carbon electricity for generations to come.
The Opportunity
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the successful delivery of engineering work by the Responsible Designer (RD), alongside the procurement, manufacturing and delivery of major contracts across the Sizewell C programme. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, supply chain, quality, construction and suppliers, you’ll help drive progress across key work packages while developing valuable experience within a world‑class major programme environment.
A core focus of the wider Project Management team is advancing engineering maturity and securing critical supply chain capability through the maximum possible replication of the Hinkley Point C design, helping de‑risk delivery and improve programme efficiency.
Opportunities are available across several key programme areas:
- Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC (MEH): Supporting the development and mobilisation of the MEH Alliance delivery model, helping shape collaborative delivery strategies informed by lessons learned from Hinkley Point C.
- Nuclear Island (NI): Supporting delivery across systems, buildings and contracts within the Nuclear Island programme, one of the most technically complex areas of the project.
- Civil Works: Supporting the development and delivery of major civil engineering work packages, including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities.
- Conventional Island & Balance of Plant (CI/BOP): Supporting the delivery of engineering contracts and helping ensure technical, commercial and programme requirements are achieved safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the delivery of engineering studies and design activities across your programme area.
- Working with multidisciplinary teams to prepare manufacturing, construction and engineering contracts.
- Supporting procurement and supplier engagement activities.
- Helping manage interfaces across systems, contracts and programme areas.
- Supporting implementation of Sizewell C‑specific design changes into delivery packages.
- Assisting with the identification and management of technical risks and supply chain challenges.
- Supporting delivery activities to ensure work is completed safely, on time, within budget and to quality standards.
- Working closely with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers, contractors and engineering teams.
- Supporting lessons learned, knowledge capture and continuous improvement activities across the programme.
- Helping coordinate project activities within a matrix delivery environment.

What We’re Looking For
We’re interested in hearing from candidates with project engineering or project management experience within complex engineering or infrastructure environments. You’ll ideally bring:
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering or procurement activities.
- Project management or project engineering experience across the project lifecycle.
- A background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems or civil engineering.
- Understanding of large‑scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Experience supporting contract procurement or supplier management activities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- An organised and collaborative approach to delivery.
- The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience within nuclear or other highly regulated industries would be advantageous, but is not essential.
We’d also welcome:
- Chartered Engineer status or progress towards professional accreditation.
- Formal project management qualifications.
- Experience supporting EPCM or major project delivery environments.
