Your Impact
As Assistant Category Manager - IT, you’ll play a key role in delivering end‑to‑end procurement activities (source to contract) across SZC’s Corporate Functions by supporting the Category Manager in meeting the category’s objectives. You’ll support the development and execution of procurement strategies, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure compliance with governance frameworks—all while driving continuous improvement and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Category Manager with the following:
- Lead and support procurement processes from strategy to contract award.
- Incorporate procurement best practice approaches in all activities undertaken, such as cost‑saving initiatives, continuous improvement, key performance metrics, SLAs, KPIs and MI.
- Manage commercial aspects of contracts during execution.
- Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders to support pipeline development.
- Ensure compliance with SZC’s procurement policies and governance.
- Collaborate with legal teams on contract terms and NDAs.
- Develop RFP/RFQ packages and manage supplier engagement.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting dashboards.
- Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement across procurement activities.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in supporting/leading IT Procurement categories.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in corporate functions procurement and contract negotiation.
- Solid understanding of commercial law and contractual terms.
- Proven ability to manage high‑value, multi‑disciplinary contracts.
- Member or student member of CIPS (preferred).
- Experience working in cross‑functional teams and advising senior management.
