As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2‑gigawatt power station generating low‑carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Main Civil Works Section.
What will you do?
- Lead the development and agreement of Target Outturn Cost (TOC) packages for complex, high‑value construction scopes.
- Integrate cost, programme, risk and delivery strategy ahead of construction.
- Ensure that all aspects of pre‑construction are aligned, robust and ready for execution.
- Define scope, delivery strategies and cost models to ensure successful package outcomes.
- Manage TOC governance processes and drive packages through key approval stages.
- Act as the single point of accountability for assigned TOC packages.
- Coordinate technical, commercial, planning, procurement and risk inputs into cohesive delivery strategies.
- Ensure alignment between engineering design, procurement, commercial and delivery teams.
- Develop and manage programme plans, cost forecasts and risk profiles.
- Monitor progress against key milestones and intervene where necessary to maintain delivery.
- Identify, manage and mitigate risks and opportunities throughout the pre‑construction phase.
- Prepare and present high‑quality submissions for governance, review and approval.
- Manage interfaces between packages to ensure seamless integration into the wider programme.
- Ensure TOC packages are fully prepared for handover into delivery teams.
- Champion lessons learned and best practice from previous major infrastructure projects.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience delivering projects across their lifecycle in complex, highly regulated environments.
- Strong commercial and numerical capability with the ability to integrate technical and programme inputs.
- Experience in pre‑construction, tendering or early contractor involvement phases on major projects.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and influence across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of cost, risk, planning and procurement processes.
- Experience managing subcontractors, consultants and suppliers within large‑scale construction environments.
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial frameworks.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
- A confident decision‑maker who can operate effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to simplify complex challenges and drive practical solutions.
- Background in civil engineering or infrastructure projects, ideally within nuclear or similarly regulated sectors.
