This role will be within the Main Civil Works Section.

The CWA is recruiting a Package Manager to play a critical role in the off‑site manufacture and delivery of complex fabricated components for the Sizewell C project. This role sits within the Transverse Manufacturing team and focuses on managing a Tier 1 supply chain partner responsible for nuclear‑grade fabrication activities. This is a high‑impact opportunity to work on a once‑in‑a‑generation infrastructure programme, ensuring right‑first‑time delivery and seamless integration from factory to site.

The Package Manager will take ownership of the end‑to‑end management of a manufacturing package, ensuring components are designed, fabricated, inspected, documented and delivered in line with strict nuclear quality and programme requirements.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Acting as the day‑to‑day engineering interface with the Tier 1 sub‑contractor
  • Managing off‑site fabrication of complex steel components, modular assemblies and embedded parts
  • Ensuring early and accurate interpretation of engineering design releases and interface requirements
  • Coordinating engineering, design, manufacturing and construction teams to avoid rework and late changes
  • Supporting the transition from manufacturing through to on‑site installation and integration
  • Championing safety, quality and right‑first‑time delivery across the supply chain

The successful candidate will be accountable for technical oversight, supplier performance and delivery assurance within a highly regulated environment. This includes:

  • Leading technical coordination across engineering, manufacturing and construction disciplines
  • Reviewing and approving manufacturing drawings, specifications and technical documentation
  • Managing RFIs, FCRs, NCRs and maintaining configuration control in line with SZC governance
  • Ensuring compliance with nuclear‑grade quality requirements, including welding, NDT and material traceability
  • Identifying and mitigating risks across the manufacturing lifecycle
  • Supporting and guiding junior engineers within the team
  • Building strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and Tier 1 suppliers

Candidates will typically bring:

  • A degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Significant experience in off‑site fabrication of complex components within large infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of nuclear or similarly regulated environments
  • Proven supplier and stakeholder management capability
  • Clear communication skills and sound technical judgement
  • Eligibility for UK security vetting (normally requiring UK residency for at least three of the past five years)
