This role will be within the Main Civil Works Section.

What will you do?

This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes – Sizewell C – a once‑in‑a‑generation clean energy project that will help power over 6 million homes for decades to come. Working within the Civil Works Alliance (a partnership between Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke), you'll lead the delivery of major work packages across the Nuclear Island, helping to deliver one of the most complex and technically demanding civil engineering programmes in Europe.

As a Senior Project Manager, you'll be responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams through both pre‑construction and delivery phases, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. You'll work collaboratively with engineering, commercial, planning, procurement and construction teams to successfully deliver critical infrastructure that will support the UK’s future energy security.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the planning, coordination and delivery of major Nuclear Island construction packages from pre‑construction through to completion
  • Managing multidisciplinary project teams to achieve programme, cost, quality and safety objectives
  • Working closely with engineering and design teams to develop safe, efficient and buildable construction solutions
  • Managing project budgets, forecasting and cost performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Overseeing subcontractor procurement, contract management and commercial performance
  • Ensuring construction programmes and key project milestones are developed, maintained and achieved
  • Managing project interfaces across engineering, commercial, planning, logistics and construction teams
  • Driving a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement throughout project delivery
  • Managing project risks, resolving issues and providing regular progress reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Capturing lessons learned and embedding best practice across the wider programme

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience leading major civil engineering or infrastructure projects in a Senior Project Manager or similar leadership role
  • Strong background in delivering complex construction projects through both pre‑construction and construction phases
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across engineering, commercial and operational functions
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial project delivery
  • Experience working within large infrastructure programmes, joint ventures or alliance environments
  • Excellent stakeholder management, leadership and communication skills
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to influence and drive performance across multiple teams
  • Experience within nuclear or another highly regulated industry would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Membership of APM, PMI or a similar professional body is desirable
