What are we looking for?

Essential

  • Strong understanding of logistics coordination within a construction, infrastructure, or heavy civil engineering environment.
  • Good knowledge of delivery scheduling, haulage coordination, vehicle access controls, and site logistics planning.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements relating to DCO conditions, booking adherence, vehicle standards, and project-specific logistics controls.
  • Knowledge of supply chain requirements including FORS, CLOCS, vehicle tracking, and site access documentation. FORS Silver is widely used to evidence alignment with CLOCS-style road risk controls, and construction logistics standards are designed around safer vehicle movements, vulnerable road user protection, and journey compliance.
  • Ability to manage real-time operational issues including delays, no-shows, withdrawn bookings, breaches, changing site priorities, and constrained capacity. This matches the live coordination and escalation responsibilities set out in your uploaded role notes.
  • Strong IT skills, including confidence using booking systems, trackers, spreadsheets, reporting tools, and shared inbox management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate site teams, hauliers, suppliers, and client representatives.

Desirable

  • Experience working on nuclear, major infrastructure, or other highly regulated construction projects.
  • Knowledge of DMS-style delivery booking systems, access/pass request processes, visitor management systems, and vehicle tracking platforms.
  • Familiarity with abnormal loads, plant movements, and permit/approval requirements.
  • Experience supporting logistics reporting, HGV statistics, utilisation tracking, and compliance investigations.
  • Awareness of continuous improvement practices, audit expectations, and performance review processes in logistics or transport operations.
