Sizewell C’s business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Overall, whilst the Company is in the construction phase, the Boards’ principal focus is on the development and construction of Sizewell C on time, on budget and to the highest quality and safety standards.

The Company is maturing to meet all these requirements.

Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the Regulated Asset Base (RAB) model similar to other UK electricity distribution networks and Thames Tideway.

Sizewell C construction strategy is to replicate the design of Hinkley Point C, using the majority of the same supply chain, but innovating in the way it is delivered to achieve savings in time and cost of around 20%.

The CCO will need to be guided by and incorporate lessons learned from the Hinkley Point C commercial delivery to achieve Sizewell C’s ambition.

Following Financial Completion and Revenue Commencement, Sizewell C is fully funded and is owned by; The Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero representing HM Government, La Caisse, Centrica, EDF and Amber Infrastructure.

Sizewell C is entering an exciting phase of growth as we mature into an independent organisation and continue building one of the UK’s largest and most important energy projects.

As Business Architect – Site Connectivity you will support the Business Architecture Lead in defining, coordinating and delivering business architecture activity for SZC site connectivity projects.

This role focuses on the connectivity services required to mobilise and operate a large, live construction site, including new buildings, compounds and operational areas.

The successful candidate will coordinate across Site Operations, Facilities Management, Construction delivery teams, Digital & IT, network and telecommunications engineers, infrastructure and IT operations teams, internet and telephony service providers, contractors and suppliers to ensure requirements, constraints, dependencies and delivery commitments are understood and actively managed.

As Business Architect you will remain engaged through design, planning, procurement, physical hardware fit-out, installation, operational transition and handover, managing evolving requirements, validating solutions and supporting readiness for business adoption.

The role operates within SZC Digital & IT governance structures and must ensure appropriate project, procurement, assurance, security, regulatory and approval requirements are completed.

It requires regular presence on site and the confidence to work pragmatically in a live construction environment with evolving priorities and constraints.

• Principal Accountabilities
• Capture, evaluate, challenge and prioritise business requirements, maintaining traceability through design, procurement, installation and operational handover.
• Coordinate site connectivity initiatives across multiple construction and operational workstreams, ensuring requirements, dependencies, risks and delivery commitments are clearly understood and tracked.
• Act as the primary interface between Site Operations, Digital & IT, suppliers and programme delivery teams for assigned projects.
• Support the mobilisation of connectivity services into new buildings, compounds and operational areas, from early requirements through to transition and handover.
• Engage with Facilities Management, Construction, Logistics, contractor and operational teams to understand site requirements, physical constraints, sequencing, access requirements and implementation impacts.
• Ensure appropriate governance, assurance, procurement and approval activities are completed in line with SZC delivery assurance principles.
• Support investment cases, project documentation, project mandates, governance submissions and programme reporting where required.
• Coordinate supplier and contractor activities, challenge plans constructively, and ensure actions, assumptions, dependencies and delivery commitments are understood and tracked to completion.
• Escalate blockers, delivery risks, conflicting priorities and unresolved dependencies proactively, with clear impacts and proposed options for resolution.
• Maintain stakeholder alignment across operational, technical and project teams, building effective relationships quickly across site and office-based stakeholders.
• Support operational transition, business acceptance and handover activities for connectivity services, including walkthroughs, testing, readiness checks and lessons learned.
• Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
• Strong understanding of business architecture change within complex, evolving and delivery-critical environments.
• Strong business process analysis and design skills, including the ability to map operational requirements, constraints, dependencies and handover activities.
• Highly organised and proactive, with strong coordination, facilitation and follow-through across multiple teams and workstreams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships quickly across operational, facilities, construction and technical teams.
• Confident challenging suppliers and contractors constructively, ensuring actions, risks and commitments are clear and progressed.
• Comfortable working on a live construction site and able to operate pragmatically in ambiguous, fast-moving delivery environments.
• Able to analyse requirements, translate operational needs into clear delivery inputs and maintain alignment between business outcomes and technical delivery.
• Broad knowledge of architecture standards, frameworks, and best practice methods.
• Strong analytical skills, able to apply a range of analysis techniques to complex problems.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience coordinating complex infrastructure, facilities, telecommunications, networking or connectivity projects.
• Experience with physical hardware fit design, planning, procurement and installation activities for infrastructure, networking, telecommunications or connectivity delivery.
• Experience working on large site mobilisation programmes, ideally in construction, infrastructure, asset-intensive or operationally complex environments.
• Experience working alongside Facilities Management teams, Site Operations teams, Construction delivery teams, network and telecommunications engineers, infrastructure or IT operations teams, and internet and telephony service providers and contractors.
• Relevant qualifications and experience in one or more business architecture disciplines, including process management, business analysis, management information, infrastructure delivery support or IT system development.
• Experience supporting investment cases, supplier engagement, RFI or ITT activity, evaluation processes, project documentation and programme reporting.
• Familiarity with governance, assurance, cyber or nuclear security and regulatory considerations relevant to IT-enabled change on a major programme.
• Experience working in nuclear, major construction, asset-intensive, safety-critical or regulated infrastructure environments.
• Exposure to telecommunications, site networks, internet connectivity, telephony, temporary compounds, operational buildings or field-based IT infrastructure delivery.
• Experience supporting operational transition, service readiness and handover from project delivery into business-as-usual support.
• Integrates and aligns operational requirements, physical site constraints, processes, systems and supplier delivery plans across organisational boundaries.
• Fosters cross-functional collaboration between site, facilities, construction, Digital & IT, suppliers and project teams to identify practical solutions.
• Translates strategic and operational needs into actionable objectives, requirements, actions, controls and measures.
• Maintains delivery focus in ambiguous environments and drives actions through to completion.
• Builds trust and credibility with stakeholders by communicating clearly, following through on commitments and escalating issues early.
• Maintains commercial and operational awareness, considering wider site impacts, sequencing, supplier performance and value for money.
