Payroll Specialist
Sizewell C’s business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. Overall, whilst the Company is in the construction phase, the Boards’ principal focus is on the development and construction of Sizewell C on time, on budget and to the highest quality and safety standards. The Company is maturing to meet all these requirements.
Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the RAB model similar to other UK electricity distribution networks and Thames Tideway.
Sizewell C construction strategy is to replicate the design of Hinkley Point C, using the majority of the same supply chain, but innovating in the way it is delivered to achieve savings in time and cost of around 20%. The CCO will need to be guided by and incorporate lessons learned from the Hinkley Point C commercial delivery to achieve Sizewell C’s ambition.
Following Financial Completion and Revenue Commencement, Sizewell C is fully funded and is owned by; The Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero representing HM Government, La Caisse, Centrica, EDF and Amber Infrastructure.
Payroll Specialist
Location: Site or Orwell Logistics park (Suffolk) 2-3 days a week in the office
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £35,000 - £41,000 + bonus and benefits including:
- Annual company bonus (up to 5%)

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Payroll, Pensions & Reward Manager, you'll provide administrative and operational support to the in-house payroll function, helping to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time every month. You'll process payroll transactions, maintain employee records, respond to payroll queries and support a customer-focused payroll service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing payroll transactions including starters, leavers, contractual changes and salary amendments
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and employee data
- Supporting payroll validation checks and reconciliations
- Responding to payroll-related queries from employees and managers
- Supporting payroll compliance and year-end activities
- Producing payroll reports and management information
- Assisting with payroll process improvements and system enhancements
- Supporting payroll audits and documentation activities
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-focused and confident working with data in a fast-paced environment.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous payroll administration or payroll support experience
- Strong administrative and data processing skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Great organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills
- Payroll systems experience (SAP or SuccessFactors experience is beneficial but not essential)
Experience working within a large, complex or regulated organisation would be advantageous.
