Assistant Quantity Surveyor Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C. As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Main Civil Works Section.

What will you do?

  • Supporting the commercial management of Main Civil Works packages across the project
  • Measuring, recording and valuing completed works in accordance with project procedures
  • Assisting with the preparation of cost reports, cost reconciliations and value reporting
  • Gathering and analysing cost information to support commercial decision‑making
  • Supporting subcontractor management, including measurement of works and agreement of valuations
  • Assisting with procurement activities and the preparation of supporting documentation
  • Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation
  • Using project systems and commercial tools to support cost and performance management
  • Contributing to weekly and monthly reporting activities
  • Supporting the wider commercial team to ensure project objectives are achieved

What are we looking for?

  • Degree qualified (or working towards completion) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Understanding of quantity surveying principles and commercial management within construction or infrastructure projects
  • Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
  • A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative project environment
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Desire to work towards professional membership with RICS, CIOB or ICES
