Project Manager - Delivery / Enabling and Earthworks - Sizewell - Suffolk Site based Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C

As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.This role will be within theEnabling and Earthwork Section.

What will you do?

Sizewell ‘C’ (SZC) is a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy. As the second of the UK’s next generation of nuclear power stations, SZC is both of high profile and high complexity.
Its delivery will be reliant not only on innovative engineering and construction but also on the strongest of Leadership qualities amongst its Senior Project Managers. The role is to provide leadership to ensure the effective delivery of the Earthworks scope as part of the overarching Civils Programme of SZC, whilst recognising and managing the impacts of the programme on the wider Project. The Senior Project Manager role is to develop the strategy for delivering the Earthworks scope to cost, schedule and quality within the agreed constraints.

• Strong understanding of excavation methodologies and material classifications
• 2. Ability to interpret and update production rates and plant utilisation assumptions
• 3. Competence in managing imported aggregate and logistics planning
• 4. Capability in mass haul planning and volumetric analysis
• 5. Knowledge of backfill specification, mixing strategies, and material performance
• 6. Ability to co-ordinate and interpret 4D model-linked sequencing to create visual work briefings
• 7. Familiarity with site logistics, haul routes, access constraints, and temporary works
• 8. Understanding of material storage strategy and stockpile configuration
• 9. Ability to read and work with technical data tables, schematics, and grids
• 10. Cross-discipline coordination and communication skills, working across engineering, logistics, marine operations, procurement, design leads, and batching plant ops to maintain accurate assumptions and planning dependencies.

What are we looking for?

Track record of delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security, and environmental responsibility, preferably within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.

• Demonstrate success in managing / developing:
• Engineering design, contract, and field execution strategies for project delivery
• Multi-discipline projects
• Procurement and management of complex contracts
• Control of costs; risk; schedule and change and proficient in the use of Earned Value tools
• Close out of commercial claims and the associated negotiations
• Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders
• Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation. Proficient in the use of estimating scheduling, programming, and risk tools
• Experience of managing contractors, consultants, and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment. Including NEC contracts
• Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction, physics, or other related field
• Good knowledge of CDM Regulations
• Knowledge and / or practitioner of Project Management with experience of applying either
• APM body of knowledge and OGC's Prince 2
• Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction, physics, or other related field preferred
• Can demonstrate experience of managing project through the project lifecycle from concept to handover
