Who you are

  • GCSE's C or above in English and Maths is preferred.
  • Keen interest in Carpentry and Joinery.
  • You are happy to work in different weather conditions - you must be prepared to work outside in both hot and cold weather.
  • Ability to follow instructions.

  • Hardworking and punctual.
  • Previous Site experience is preferred, but not essential.

What you’ll do

  • Any successful applicant to our apprenticeship programme will be given experience and training in the fields of carpentry, joinery, and cabinet making, so that the successful applicant can then determine their preferred specialty.
  • To complete relevant mandatory and optional units set within the NVQ qualification.
  • Carry out relevant site-based tasks as directed by your Manager to ensure the gathering of evidence and understanding of your NVQ qualification, using both knowledge received through college work and site/workshop based tasks.
  • Capturing the knowledge and experience of a qualified carpenter - this will include roofing & joisting, first and second fix carpentry works, formwork, kitchens, and joinery.
  • Carry out relevant site-based tasks directed by a Supervisor.
  • Demonstrate skills in the safe operation of hand and power tools.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
