The Role
Working alongside the Design Director and the wider design team, the successful candidate will:
- Produce highly detailed and accurate technical drawings using SolidWorks
- Adhere to design programs and report deviations to ensure accurate costing
- Coordinate with interfacing trades to ensure seamless integration
- Demonstrate expert understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
- Order and track samples and finishes
- Conduct site surveys using gridlines and manage initial templating
- Create door and component schedules using Excel
- Work with at least one Junior Draughtsperson to support them to deliver drawings to the required standard
About You
To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate:
- 5+ years draughting experience in the super-prime residential joinery sector
- Minimum 5 years experience of using SolidWorks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office ApplicationsStrong knowledge of materials including timber, veneer, glass, metal, upholstery and specialist finishes
- Ability to produce drawings for approval, manufacture and installation to agreed programme
- Confident conduction measured surveys and liaising with contractors and Design Managers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Be highly self-motivated, organised and deadline driven
During your six-month probation you will be expected to have integrated into the Smith and Brown team with positivity and determination, learning to adapt to, and adopt our processes. You will have reached the following KPIs:
- Demonstrate excellent commercial understanding so that any changes are captured correctly and reported
- Deliver 'for construction' drawings for items assigned to you, within budget, inline with the project programme, and require no queries from the workshop once handed over.
- Conduct meetings with Designers and/or contractors where the key aims of the meeting are met
