We are building the connectivity layer that powers digital payments across the world's largest wallet network — already embedded in platforms serving tens of millions of users across 120+ countries. As we scale our payments, data is becoming foundational to everything we do. This is the moment we move from MVP pipelines to production-grade architecture — and we need a senior engineer to help build it.

The Role

  • You'll design and operate the data platform behind a real-time, high-volume global payments network.
  • Working closely with the Data Engineering Lead, you'll build event-driven pipelines, ensure data quality across critical financial workflows, and develop backend services that expose clean, reliable data across the business.

What You'll Do

  • Design and operate scalable, near real-time data pipelines across high-volume transaction flows.
  • Own data quality, monitoring, and observability for financial-grade systems.
  • Model transactional and ledger-style data — reconciliation, merchant reporting, and settlement tracking.
  • Build backend services that expose data to internal platforms and APIs.
  • Shape the platform architecture as requirements grow.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years building and operating production data systems.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills with expertise in large-scale data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data stack tools — Airflow, dbt, ClickHouse, BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar.
  • Experience with event-driven, real-time or near real-time architectures.
  • A first-class approach to data correctness, reliability, and monitoring.
  • Ability to own systems end-to-end in a remote, async environment.

Preferred:

  • Background in fintech, payments, or financial data — reconciliation, settlement, or ledger reporting.
  • Exposure to Web3, blockchain, or on-chain data ecosystems.
  • Rust experience or willingness to learn.

We are particularly interested in engineers who have cut their teeth in demanding fintech or payments ecosystems — the kind of environments where data correctness, transaction volume, and reliability are non-negotiable. You'll join at a pivotal moment — not inheriting a finished platform, but helping define one. If you're energised by building data infrastructure that genuinely matters at scale, this is your opportunity.
