Work on Technology That Protects What Matters
At SiXworks, we build secure digital solutions that support Defence and National Security missions. Our teams work on complex problems where reliability, security, and speed of innovation matter. We’re looking for an Engineering Manager who enjoys solving difficult technical challenges and wants their work to have real operational impact.
What You’ll Do
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll help design, build, and deliver secure digital solutions in highly secure environments. You’ll work alongside engineers, architects, and delivery specialists to develop technology that enables faster, safer decision-making for critical operations.
Your work may include:
- Manage the engineers conducting patching and updates, communicating potential impacts of any changes to the service delivery team (SiXworks service desk, HIMIST and customer) and managing any potential disruption to service;
- Coordinate with Technical Authority to identify existing technical debt and plans for remediation, including identification of additional specialist resource requirements;
- Work with the Product Owner to identify and size the work required to deploy changes from the MVC pipeline, including the development of the engineering plans required to prepare for and execute the changes;
- Manage engineering response to P1-P4 issues ensuring that the most appropriate resource is tasked to minimise the impact of any incident on performance;
- Adopt the role of Incident Manager for P1 and P2 incidents, initiate response processes and act as interface between the customer and the engineering teams. Ensure that all post-incidents actions are tracked and completed;
- Participate in the Change Approval Boards to represent the current status of the solution and the capacity for additional changes, providing an assessment of potential issues, mitigations and roll-back plans.
