We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who enjoys solving difficult technical challenges and wants their work to have real operational impact.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll help design, build, and deliver secure digital solutions in highly secure environments. You’ll work alongside engineers, architects, and delivery specialists to develop technology that enables faster, safer decision-making for critical operations. Your work may include:
- Part of the team responsible for delivering, upgrading and maintaining core service and project platforms, systems and automations.
- Work closely with engineers, developers, operations, QA etc. in the design, hardening and optimisation of products and platforms.
- Help in the architecture and design of new deployments and services.
- Design and deploy proof of concept (PoC) for new technologies and services, as well as bring them to production.
- Conduct security risk, vulnerability assessments and hardening on developed or installed solutions.
- Design, build and maintain automation tooling.
- Work with automation tools and other technologies to improve performance, deployment procedures and reliability of solutions.
- Analyse, diagnose, and solve performance issues on various software such as Linux, Docker, Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.
- Work to ensure and build that the required documentation is in place and of good quality.
- Helps to ensure that the necessary integration and non-functional requirements are met.
What We’re Looking For
We value people who take ownership, think critically, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team tackling complex challenges. You don’t need to tick every box, but we’re particularly interested in people with skills/experience in:
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development life cycle and best practices.
- Awareness of security concerns and best practices.
- Configuration As Code (DSC, Ansible or similar).
- Continuous Inspection Tooling.
- Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) & Windows Server (2019/2022).
- Containerisation (Docker, Podman) and Container Orchestration Systems (Kubernetes, Swarm).
- Configuration Management Tooling (GitLab or similar).
- Cloud Providers (Azure/Azure Stack Hub).
- Application monitoring and alarms (Nagios, Splunk or similar).
- Strong communication and documentation skills (Confluence).
Just as important are curiosity, strong problem solving ability, and the motivation to continuously improve how technology is designed and delivered.
