Who are they? Backed and growing fast, now focused on building the people function properly. Not overly corporate, high standards, clear expectations, fast pace, and a real focus on doing things properly as they scale.
The role... This is the lead People role, you’ll own it end to end. This isn’t about maintaining what’s already there; it’s about building, tightening things up, and raising the bar across the business. They care about what actually works on the ground, not process for the sake of it.
You’ll work closely with the Ops Director and senior leadership team, so you need to be visible, confident, and comfortable challenging where needed. It’s a hands-on role, you’ll be deep in the detail.
You’ll only succeed if you’ve come from an operational background and genuinely understand how fast-paced, multi-site businesses run day to day.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own ER end-to-end
- Bring structure, consistency, and control to ER and compliance
- Ensure full alignment with UK employment law
- Own engagement in a real way, not just surveys, but follow-through and action
- Improve communication across sites so it actually lands
- Build a clear performance framework: expectations, standards, accountability
- Support managers with performance and difficult conversations
- Lead and develop a small L&D function
- Shape learning from onboarding through to leadership development
- Make L&D practical, relevant, and usable on the ground
