The Role

As General Manager, you will take full accountability for the day to day performance of your site, delivering exceptional guest experiences, strong financial results, and a safe, compliant, and high-performing working environment. This is a hands on leadership role that sits at the intersection of operational excellence, people development, and commercial awareness. You will report directly to a Senior General Manager and work as part of a driven, values-led operations team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of daily restaurant operations, ensuring brand and service standards are consistently delivered across all trading periods.
  • Own the P&L performance of the site, driving sales, managing labour, and controlling costs within agreed targets.
  • Lead, inspire and develop your management and front of house teams through regular feedback, coaching, and structured performance conversations.
  • Recruit and retain exceptional people, identifying future talent and supporting internal progression within the business.
  • Ensure full compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Fire Safety legislation, maintaining 5-star EHO readiness at all times.
  • Champion hospitality at every touch point, managing guest feedback, mystery diner results, and reviews to drive continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain an inclusive, high-performance culture where the team feel supported, challenged, and proud of what they do.
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with the Senior General Manager on site performance, people matters, and operational risks.

The Candidate

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or strong Deputy/Assistant General Manager within a quality, fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Solid understanding of restaurant operations; cost control, rota management, and people leadership.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret and act on financial performance data.
  • A hands on leader who sets the standard on the floor and leads by example.
  • Calm, confident, and decisive under pressure; a natural problem solver.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, food, and developing people around them.
