Position Overview

My client is looking for a AEP Data Architect to join there team.

The AEP / RT-CDP Data Architect will lead the design and ongoing development of the organisation's customer data foundation within Adobe Experience Platform (AEP).

With a strong emphasis on Adobe Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RT-CDP), this position is accountable for ensuring customer data can be collected, structured, connected, governed, and activated effectively across the enterprise.

Serving as the technical authority for the AEP data layer, the architect will turn marketing and business objectives into scalable data solutions.

They will collaborate with solution architects, data engineers, marketing teams, and security and privacy stakeholders to enable real-time personalisation, customer analytics, and activation across channels.

This is a contract role and is 3.5 days Per week. There maybe occasional travel into the London based office.

  • Principal Accountabilities
  • Set the architectural direction for the complete AEP and RT-CDP data lifecycle, covering source ingestion, XDM design, identity resolution, profile configuration, and downstream activation.
  • Develop and maintain Adobe Experience Data Model (XDM) schemas, datasets, and data flows for both profile-enabled and non-profile use cases.
  • Create reusable architecture patterns and technical standards for batch, streaming, and real-time data ingestion.
  • Design solutions that can scale across multiple brands, markets, and regions where required.
  • Define how data from a range of source platforms and applications should be onboarded into AEP.
  • Determine the appropriate modelling approach for customer attributes, behavioural events, and other data types, applying established XDM best practices.
  • Work alongside data engineering teams to ensure ingestion processes are reliable, performant, maintainable, and properly documented.
  • Establish and govern the RT-CDP identity framework, including identity namespaces, matching and stitching rules, and merge policies.
  • Set standards for profile enablement and define the criteria that data must meet before it is ready for audience creation and activation.
  • Convert business, marketing, and customer-experience requirements into clear data architecture blueprints and detailed solution designs.
  • Provide authoritative guidance on AEP data design throughout discovery, implementation, and delivery.
  • Review proposed solutions, identify technical and data-related risks, and support teams with architecture decisions.
  • Explain design options, dependencies, limitations, and trade-offs clearly to both technical teams and senior non-technical stakeholders.

Experience and Capabilities

  • At least five years of experience working in a Data Architect position or a closely related architecture role.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Adobe Experience Platform, with experience in Real-Time CDP and, ideally, other products within the Adobe ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise data architecture, customer data solution design, or solution architecture.

• Strong knowledge of

  • Event-based and event-driven data structures
  • Customer and profile data modelling techniques
  • APIs, JSON, and data transformation principles
  • Identity resolution and unified customer profile concepts
  • Batch, streaming, and real-time integration patterns
  • Experience working with at least one major cloud data environment, such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • A sound understanding of GDPR, data governance, consent, and privacy-by-design principles as they apply to customer data platforms.
