Investors retain full custody of their assets at all times, while granting Sixteen01 Capital a managed account mandate to execute carefully selected crypto arbitrage opportunities.
Role
Sixteen01 Capital is seeking an experienced digital asset trader with a proven track record of success and profitability in arbitrage trading. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and forward thinker with a deep understanding of both traditional finance and digital assets. They must demonstrate a passion for trading, cryptocurrencies, and the broader alternative asset universe.
The trader will play a pivotal role in driving the firm's trading strategies, working closely with the junior trader and the CEO to identify, backtest, and implement innovative arbitrage opportunities that align with the firm's vision. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a pioneering asset management firm at the forefront of digital asset innovation.
This role offers flexibility and can be either a full-time or part-time position. The successful candidate may choose to work on-site in Cape Town or Paris or opt for remote working arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Identify, backtest, and implement successful digital asset strategies that appeal to traditional institutional investors seeking to diversify a portion of their portfolios.
- Display a high degree of responsibility and ethical integrity in all aspects of the role.
- Understand the needs of institutional investors and assist in capital-raising initiatives by articulating the firm’s crypto arbitrage strategies eloquently and confidently.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Collaborate with the junior trader and the CEO to optimise trading performance and drive innovation in arbitrage strategies.
Qualifications
- Education: Technical university honours degree required, with a master’s qualification preferred.
- Professional: CFA Charterholder (or in the process of obtaining) strongly preferred.
- Background: References and background checks are essential for this role.
