At SIXT, our fleet is our business. As our new Fleet Utilisation & Rotation Professional, you'll own fleet utilisation across the UK Van & Truck business, making sure every vehicle is in the right place at the right time to maximise availability and commercial performance. Using data driven insights, you'll work cross functionally with Commercial, Operations, Sales and Fleet Administration to optimise asset utilisation, improve revenue and support business growth. If you thrive on solving problems, influencing stakeholders and constantly finding smarter ways to manage a fleet, this role puts you at the centre of it all.

YOUR ROLE AT SIXT

  • Drive Fleet Utilisation: You own fleet utilisation performance across the UK Van & Truck network, monitoring trends to increase revenue and reduce idle time, producing regular reporting with actionable commercial insights, partnering with branch and operational teams to maximise availability, and developing initiatives that improve overall fleet performance.
  • Lead Fleet Deployment & Rotation: You own the allocation strategy for all new vehicles entering the fleet, ensuring they're deployed where they generate the greatest commercial return, coordinating vehicle movements to respond quickly to customer demand and operational requirements, and supporting fleet expansion and network growth through effective deployment planning.
  • Support Fleet Planning: You analyse utilisation, booking trends and demand forecasts, provide recommendations to support fleet ordering and investment decisions, identify future capacity constraints and commercial opportunities, and help optimise fleet mix across locations to maximise return on assets.
  • Improve Fleet Availability: You monitor all out of service vehicles across the network, work closely with Operations, suppliers and workshops to minimise downtime, identify recurring issues affecting availability and drive root cause solutions, and improve fleet readiness so customers always have access to the vehicles they need.
  • Build Strong Business Partnerships: You develop effective relationships across internal and external teams, act as the central point of coordination for fleet deployment decisions, present utilisation and performance updates to senior stakeholders, and influence decision making through clear analysis and commercial recommendations.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: You challenge existing processes to find smarter ways of working, support automation, reporting enhancements and improved data visibility, and strengthen governance and controls throughout the fleet lifecycle while contributing to strategic commercial and operational improvement projects.

Success Metrics: You're measured on tangible commercial outcomes, including fleet utilisation performance, reduction in vehicle idle days, revenue per vehicle or category, speed of new vehicle deployment, allocation lead times and fleet rotation effectiveness.

YOUR SKILLS MATTER

  • Fleet Expertise: You bring experience within fleet, vehicle rental, logistics, transport or commercial operations, ideally including vehicle rental or fleet management, knowledge of fleet management systems, Prohire or Business Intelligence tools, and an understanding of vehicle lifecycle management.
  • Analytical & Commercial Insight: You have strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capability, the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into commercial actions, and solid commercial awareness of fleet utilisation and asset management, always prioritising what matters most to drive performance.
  • Planning & Organisation: You bring excellent planning and organisational skills, keeping fleet decisions structured and on track.
  • Stakeholder Management: You have strong stakeholder management and communication skills, building trusted relationships and collaborating across departments to achieve the best outcomes for the business.
  • Continuous Improvement: You enjoy delivering process improvement or transformation initiatives, challenging the status quo, embracing innovation, and addressing root causes rather than symptoms to proactively remove barriers to success.
  • Ownership: You take accountability for fleet performance, make informed decisions and deliver results, always putting customers at the centre of every fleet decision.
