Senior Electronics Engineer Our client is a highly respected engineering and technology company operating at the forefront of automotive and motorsport innovation. They are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join their growing engineering team and play a key role in the development of advanced, high-reliability electronic systems used in demanding, performance-critical environments. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in automotive and/or motorsport electronics who enjoys taking products from concept through to production while working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams. The Role As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, validation and ongoing support of sophisticated electronic hardware solutions. Working closely with embedded software, systems and product engineering teams, you will contribute to the delivery of innovative products designed to perform in harsh and safety-critical environments. Key Responsibilities Electronics Design & Development * Lead the design and development of electronic hardware solutions from concept through to production. * Select, integrate and validate electronic components with a focus on reliability, performance and environmental robustness. * Deliver complete electronic system designs including schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping and validation. * Design hardware incorporating RF circuitry, power management and signal conditioning. Product Lifecycle Support * Support and enhance existing product designs, implementing improvements where appropriate. * Participate in and lead engineering activities throughout APQP processes, including FMEA reviews and risk assessments. * Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) principles are achieved. * Support the successful transition of products into production. Testing, Validation & Documentation * Develop and execute Design Verification Plans (DVPs) covering laboratory and vehicle-level testing. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet technical, performance and compliance requirements. * Produce detailed technical documentation, test reports and engineering investigations. * Maintain accurate design records throughout the product development lifecycle. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement * Investigate and resolve hardware-related issues arising during development, production and customer use. * Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions. * Identify opportunities to improve products, processes and engineering methodologies. * Influence technical decision-making across multidisciplinary teams. About You Essential Requirements * Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering (BEng or equivalent). * Proven experience developing electronics within automotive, motorsport or similarly demanding industries. * Strong background in sensor technologies, including pressure, temperature and humidity sensing systems. * Extensive experience in analogue and digital electronic circuit design, analysis and troubleshooting. * Experience with CAN/CAN FD communications and transceiver-level design. * Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout using industry-standard design tools. * Understanding of RF design, particularly 433MHz and 2.4GHz wireless systems. * Knowledge of EMC/EMI design considerations and mitigation techniques. * Experience performing component-level fault diagnosis and root cause analysis. * Knowledge of DFM and DFT principles. Desirable Skills * Knowledge of advanced PCB technologies including HDI, Flex and Rigid-Flex designs. * Exposure to embedded software integration and hardware validation. * Certified PCB Layout Designer (CID/CID+). * Experience working within IATF 16949 / TS16949 environments If you are an Electronics Engineer looking to work on challenging, high-performance products within a fast-paced engineering environment, we'd love to hear from you
