Our client, a highly respected organisation within the manufacturing sector, is looking to expand their engineering team with a talented individual who is proactive, hands‑on, and passionate about delivering high‑quality maintenance support.
The Role: As a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost‑effective maintenance of a wide range of standard and bespoke machinery. You'll work across both planned and reactive maintenance, keeping production running smoothly while maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine and reactive maintenance on a variety of machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults quickly and effectively.
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule and prioritise maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMM (Computerised Maintenance Management) system.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with HSE regulations and internal policies.
- Conduct quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure ongoing reliability.
- Provide emergency breakdown support when required.
- Support engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, including joint maintenance work when required.
- Offer coaching and mentoring to junior engineers or apprentices.
About You:
We're looking for a motivated and flexible engineer who takes pride in solving problems and improving processes. You will have:
- A relevant qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering (e.g. NVQ, HNC, HND, or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with HSE standards and safe working practices.
- Experience with hydraulic systems, welding, milling/turning would be an advantage.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills.
- A proactive, solution‑focused mindset and a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Flexibility to support overtime or weekend work when required.
