We’re working with a well-established, global manufacturing organisation known for delivering high-quality, safety-critical engineered solutions across industries such as energy, marine, and industrial applications. Due to continued growth and strong market demand, they’re now looking to appoint a hands-on Process Quality Engineer to join their team.
This is a key role sitting at the heart of production, where you’ll work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure products are built right first time. You’ll be a visible presence on the shop floor, owning quality performance, solving real engineering challenges, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Control & Continuous Improvement
- Provide daily support to production, resolving defects and line stoppages
- Lead root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D and 5 Whys
- Monitor and report on quality performance (RFT, NCRs, MRB)
- Investigate customer returns and supplier issues
- Develop and improve SOPs and inspection processes
- Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 9001, PED, and ATEX
- Support audits (internal, supplier, and customer)
- Act as first point of contact for production equipment issues
- Support calibration, maintenance, and engineering changes (ECO/ECN)
- Contribute to DFMEA / PFMEA activities
- Assist in the design of tooling, jigs, and test equipment
About You
Essential:
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
- Strong knowledge of quality and lean principles
- Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measurement tools
- Experience with assembly and test processes
- Familiarity with 2D/3D CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor)
Desirable:
- Experience with hazardous environments, hydraulics/pneumatics, or castings
- Knowledge of PED, ATEX, or similar compliance standards
