Senior Maintenance EngineerA well-established manufacturing business based in the Mildenhall area is seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer to join its Maintenance & Facilities team. This is a key, hands-on role supporting machinery, equipment, and facilities across three local sites.
This opportunity would suit an experienced engineer who enjoys fault-finding, continuous improvement, and working in a fast-paced production environment. The RoleAs Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of production machinery and site facilities. Full support and guidance will be provided to help the successful candidate develop further within the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the maintenance of production machinery and ancillary equipmentDiagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairsStripping down machinery to replace worn or broken componentsCompleting and updating maintenance tasks using a CMMS / maintenance softwareSupporting visiting service engineersMaintaining facilities across all sitesActing as the main point of contact for external contractorsIdentifying improvement opportunities and potential cost-saving initiativesAssisting other areas of the business with maintenance support as requiredAbout YouThe successful candidate will ideally have: Experience in a maintenance role within a production or manufacturing environmentExperience working with production machinery, ideally within a shift-based or 24/7 operationGood mechanical aptitude, including strip-down and replacement of components such as bearings, conveyor belts, and other wear partsExperience using general workshop machinery and equipmentWelding and fabrication skillsA disciplined, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication skills, comfortable liaising with colleagues at all levels and external contractors
